SMH Publishes Rumours of Liberal Pre-Selection Challenges

In an emotive and hyperbolic article, the Sydney Morning Herald writes that various factions of the Liberal Party are planning pre-selection challenges against “half-a-dozen high profile federal MPs in NSW”. 

Amongst the claims are that state Wollondilly MP Jai Rowell is organising for federal MP for Macarthur Russell Matheson to challenge federal MP for Hume Angus Taylor. Here’s the quote, make of it what you will:

The party is also alive with rumours that NSW factional boss Jai Rowell is backing an audacious bid to depose mooted future leader Angus Taylor in the southern NSW seat of Hume by installing candidate Russell Matheson.
